Mr. Srood Sherif, Group Chief Information Officer, began his career with National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) more than three decades ago.

With over 30 years of solid IT experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Sherif has been implementing major IT projects mapping corporate business objectives into IT strategy and managing their implementation.

Under his leadership, the Bank has received the best Middle East E-Banking Country Award – UAE in 2005 and an award for Outstanding Achievement in the use of IT in Financial Services in 2005 too. He was selected as one of the top 10 IT Directors in the Middle East by the ACN Magazine in 2004. The Bank also received the Best Use of Technology in the Middle East award from the Banker Magazine in 2006 and recently the Project Implementation of the Year during the Arab Technology Award ceremony in 2008.

Mr. Sherif was awarded the 2008 CIO of the year award across all industries in the Middle East during the Arab Technology Awards ceremony in October 2008.

He holds a bachelor degree in Physics and Electronics and is an ex- professional Basketball player who played for his country in the Olympic Games.
