What is the NBAD Prepaid Card?
The NBAD Prepaid Card is a smart and cost-effective alternative to carrying cash. It is a pre-funded Visa Electron Card that you can purchase at any NBAD branch. You can use the Card just like any other Credit or Debit Card, and because it is prepaid, spending is limited to the amount of money loaded on the Card.
How do I get the NBAD Prepaid Card?
The NBAD Prepaid Card can be instantly issued at any NBAD branch. With such a wide network spread across the United Arab Emirates, you’re sure to find an NBAD branch close to you. Applying for the Card is simple, as you do not even need to have a bank account. Simply walk in, fill up the simple Application, provide funds for loading your Card and you’re ready to go.
Where can I use it?
Your NBAD Prepaid Card is accepted throughout the international network of VISA at over 24 million outlets worldwide. Use it just like any other credit or debit card – for your point of sale purchases here or abroad, or to withdraw cash from any ATM that features the Visa logo. You can also use it to shop online.
How does my NBAD Prepaid Card work?
Each time you use your Card, the purchase amount is automatically deducted from your Card balance. When you’re out of funds, you need to re-load your Card (ie; add more money to your Card) at any time through any NBAD
branch or ATM Cash Deposit machine.
How much money can I load / re-load ?
Minimum load / reload amount is AED 100.
Maximum load / reload amount is AED 5,000.
When companies issue NBAD Prepaid cards to their employees, for salary or incentive payments - there is no minimum or maximum limits on the amount that can be loaded.
Do I need to activate my NBAD Prepaid Card?
There is no need to activate this NBAD Card. Once you have loaded funds into your Card & the bank cashier / cash deposit machine has given you a receipt, your Card will be automatically activated. This means your funds are available for use instantly. Similarly, for cards issued by companies for their employees, once funds (salary/incentives) have been loaded via electronic file, funds on the card are available for use instantly.
Can I withdraw cash ?
You can use your NBAD Prepaid Card to withdraw cash at any ATM with the Visa logo. Follow the same process that you would with any other credit or debit Card. Remember that the first time you use the Card at the NBAD ATM, you will need to select a PIN (remember PIN selection can only be done on an NBAD ATM). Later whenever you need to withdraw cash, you simply insert your Card into the machine and enter your PIN. Select “withdrawal” to make a withdrawal and enter the amount of cash you want to withdraw. Then take your cash, card, and receipt to keep track of your balance.
What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?
Report lost or stolen Cards immediately to NBAD by calling toll-free 800 2211 and requesting for your Card to be blocked. You can then re-apply for a new NBAD by visiting any NBAD branch. The blocked balance on the Card reported lost can then be transferred to your new NBAD Prepaid Card.
How long can I use my NBAD Prepaid Card?
You can make purchases using your card until the expiration date shown on the Card, or until the value of the Card has been depleted. Once your balance on your Card has been depleted, you can add more money to your Card at any NBAD Branch.
How do I know the balance on my Card?
You can check the Card balance on your NBAD Card at any NBAD ATM, by calling the NBAD toll free Call Centre on 800 2211 or through the NBAD website; www.nbad.ae

Checking through the website is the simplest way.
To do this, you need to:
- Go to the NBAD website www.nbad.ae and click on the link for Prepaid Card balance enquiry.
- Key in the required information as prompted on the screen.
- Screen will display the current balance and last 10 transactions with the option to enquire for a period or by number of transactions.
