  1. What is SMS alert service?
    SMS alert service intimates a customer by SMS whenever a remittance or payment is made from the customers account.

  2. How do you subscribe/unsubscribe for SMS alert service?
    All customers who have provided their mobile numbers while opening their account are automatically enrolled for this service. If you have not provided your mobile number already, please call NBAD CALL at our toll free number 800 2211(+ 971 2 6666164 from outside UAE), and ask them to enroll you for SMS Alert Service, by providing your telephone number.

    If you want to unsubscribe from SMS alert system for any reason, you may contact the same numbers given above.

  3. Is there any fee for SMS alert service?
    No, SMS alert service is a free service provided by the bank in the interest of its customers. If at all, any service fee is introduced at the later stage, the same will be communicated to the customers at least one month before the commencement of such fees.
  4. Does SMS alert system cover all transactions through nbadOnline?
    No, all transaction under nbadOnline are not covered under SMS alert system. Only transactions that involved movement of funds from the customer's account to a third party will be intimated by SMS. The two types of transactions that are covered under SMS alert system are Remittances and Payments.
  5. What is the purpose of SMS alert system?
    apart from implementing world class security systems, we thought it was best to alert our customers about any third party transactions, as and when it occurs. This way, we can eradicate even the remotest possibility of misuse of our customers' accounts.
    In today's world, many people remain apprehensive about using internet banking channels and are concerned about online frauds happening around the world.

    We at NBAD are concerned not only about providing customer friendly services, but also about our customers apprehensions and confidence.

  6. Sometimes I get message which says "An attempt/request for payment/remittance has been made from you Account no:---- through nbadOnline on/at ----------. Regards, NBAD"
    What does this mean?

    An "attempt/request" indicates a 'timed out transaction' which may or may not have been completed.

    Hence this message DOES NOT mean that there has been a fraudulent transaction. However, if there were no transaction that were initiated, please report the matter to NBAD CALL (800 2211) (+ 971 2 6666164 from outside UAE).
