eDirham organized an open raffle draw for a BMW car during GITEX Technology Week 2015, at the premises of the UAE Smart Government Pavilion, at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The raffle draw was attended by His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, HE / Saeed AlYateem, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Budgeting in the Ministry of Finance and representatives of National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD).
Any eDirham cards users who had registered their details to date could enter the draw. The BMW winner, Mariam Mohamed Alderei was selected randomly among participants and her prize was delivered to her father who attended the ceremony on her behalf.
The raffle draw comes as a kick start of a comprehensive campaign designed to encourage eDirham card users to register their details in order to benefit from most of eDirham system services and card features.
eDirham system is enhancing the range of its services and extending its network. The number of eDirham pre-paid cards issued and distributed so far, for instance, reached more than 1.6 million since the launch of the second generation of eDirham in 2011.
eDirham card user details can now be registered on the eDirham system website, as well as in all branches of NBAD, and soon via self-service kiosks. eDirham users can also opt for registering their data partially through a phone call to eDirham system call center, that is offering services 24/7 in three languages: Arabic, English and Urdo.
During its recent participation in the GITEX 2015, eDirham system launched a number of smart new services , including eD-Mobile/Wallet applications for smart mobile phones; eD-Voucher, the paper receipts alternative that can be used for transactions involving small amounts; and the new form of eDirham self-service kiosks that allow users to buy certain types of eDirham prepaid cards, recharge cards balance, access different reports and transaction data, pay public service fees, as well as to get eDirham paper receipts, besides many other services that can be carried out by the user himself.
