Secure Net banking

Customer should perform due-diligence related to security controls of their IT /Mobile systems and ensure a secure computer/device is in use to use FAB banking services. Customer should periodically check their computer systems/mobile devices ensure appropriate security controls are in place.

  • Always access your net banking through hhttps://online.bankfab.com/PersonalBankingWeb/index.html Avoid using net banking on Open or public Wi-Fi.
  • Verify the authenticity of the net banking webpage by checking its URL and PAD lock symbol.
  • Do not disclose your customer ID and PIN/Password to anyone even if the requester mention he/she belongs to FAB.FAB Staff shall never ask for password or PINS for any banking services.
  • Change your PIN immediately when received, memorize it and never write it down.
  • Do not directly close the browser, always logout from net banking window.
  • Customers should contact FAB Customer care / Contact center if notices any suspicion. 

Secure ATM Banking

  • Do not share your PIN or card with anyone including Bank employees, not even your friends or family. Change your PIN regularly.
  • Do not take help from strangers for using the ATM card or handling your cash
  • Do not carry out any transaction if you find any unusual device connected to your ATM machine.
  • If your ATM card is lost or stolen, report it to your bank immediately
  • Check your monthly statements against the ATM transactions to identify any unauthorized transactions
  • Do not count the cash outside the ATM location.
  • Destroy your old ATM card before discarding them or surrender it to the bank on receiving the new ATM card.

Credit / Debit Card Security

  • Do not use same PIN numbers for multiple Credit / Debit cards
  • Do not leave your Credit / Debit card unattended in any place
  • Please contact FAB call center immediately if your credit card is lost or stolen.
  • Review your account statements frequently to check for any unauthorized transactions
  • Do not respond to unsolicited SMS/calls that request personal information such as your banking card number, ATM PIN, online/telephone banking passwords, credit card numbers etc.
  • Use complex password that cannot be predicted.

Mobile Security

  • Always protect your mobile phone by Strong password/PIN/Pattern.
  • Use the official FAB mobile banking app from Google play store for Android and Apple play store for Apple.
  • Avoid using mobile banking over public Wi-Fi/hotspot network.

Secure Computer Tips

  • Always use licensed software from trusted source.
  • Update your computer with latest security patches for your operating system, browser and email client.
  • Use anti-virus, anti-spyware and personal firewalls.

Secure Online Shopping Tips

  • Shop/make payments through reputed websites.
  • Never click on links in emails, always type the URL in the address bar of the browser.
  • Do not enter your confidential account information such as Credit Card Numbers, Expiry Date, CVV values, etc. on any pop-up windows.
  • Do not click on links in emails or on referral websites to visit the online shopping site.

Password Security

  • Don’t use personal information like your name, date of birth, Emirates ID etc. as your passwords.
  • Don’t use sequences of letters or numbers E.g.: abcd1234.
  • Keep a complex password consists of upper and lower case alphanumeric characters and special characters.
  • Don’t send your password or PIN to anyone via email or text message.
  • Change your PIN/passwords at regular intervals.
  • If you suspect that someone knows your PIN/Password, change it immediately.
  • Ensure your web browser is configured not to remember your banking passwords.
